MDx is based on an open system architecture which includes the Windows operating system (XP Professional), Intel processors, SATA hard drives and PCI bus technology. Both analogue and digital components for all required standard signal types are available as input interfaces. This enables trouble-free integration into existing telecommunications systems and IT infrastructures. The analysis and storage of information is performed in an integrated SQL database. The MDx system is network-enabled and can be completely configured and operated over a LAN or WAN.

There are various software solutions available for the MDx to support configuration, monitoring, archiving, searching, querying and processing.

The MDx recording system also includes the following features: 

• Recording capacity for up to 256 channels and 500,000 channel hours
• More than 20 search criteria can be combined to retrieve calls
• Intuitive user interface to increase operational efficiency
• Proprietary recording format prevents tampering or eavesdropping
• Flexible user administration with a hierarchical system of access rights, password management and principle of dual control
• Interoperability with the systems of leading network equipment providers (using CTI / CSTA)
• Various functions for replaying calls such as loop (permanent replay of specific call segments), flexi-speech (variable playback speeds), DSE (skip breaks in conversation), multiplay (synchronous replay of up to 8 channels), zoom and scenario replay (graphical representation of the chronological contexts of individual conversations)
